Who we are

Parents Information

Brightlands Childcare Centre is a brand-new, purpose-built centre in the heart of the Hamilton City at 562 Te Rapa Road, Hamilton. The Centre has been built with an aim to create a rich and safe learning environment for children to receive quality early childhood education. Our innovative environments have been carefully designed and abundantly resourced with stimulating educational resources to encourage children's creativity and social interactions.

Our goal is to develop children for the next stage in their lives as confident and emotionally intelligent leaders while nurturing their uniqueness.

Our play based and child centred approach helps Children learn through investigations based on their interest while developing confidence in their capabilities.

As children explore and experience the environment, they learn foundational language, science and mathematical concepts in a far more meaningful way. Our curriculum is also based on the principles and goals of Te Whariki, New Zealand's national curriculum.

Our vision is to become a centre of excellence for the early childhood education by ensuring:

  1. Educational program and practice of educators are child-centred, stimulating and maximise opportunities for enhancing and extending each child’s learning and development.

  2. We deliver high quality early learning and care in an environment that is stimulatory, supportive and that safeguards and promotes their health, safety and wellbeing.

  3. Physical environment is safe, suitable and provides a rich and diverse range of experiences that promote children’s learning and development.

  4. We attract and retain highly engaged educators who are qualified and experienced and develop warm, respectful relationships with children, create predictable environments and encourage children’s active engagement in the learning program.

  5. Our relationships with children are responsive, respectful and promote children’s sense of security and belonging.

  6. We form collaborative relationships with families that are fundamental to achieving quality outcomes for children, and build community partnerships based on active communication, consultation and collaboration.

  7. Effective leadership and governance of the Centre to establish shared values and clear direction for the Centre that contributes to quality environments for children’s learning and development and ensure our teachers are fully engaged and supported with recognition and professional development.

Our Learning Programmes

Nurture Room (infants)

At Brightlands our aim is to ensure your baby grows and thrive through a range of learning experiences that are specifically designed to encourage discovery and learning.

The Nurture Room has a spacious play area that provides a nurturing, safe and peaceful environment for 3 to 24 months old babies. Our trained teachers attend to each child's individual needs in a respectful, calm and unhurried manner. This allows for opportunities to develop trusting and nurturing relationships with your child and your family.

Our programs are flexible and conform to your baby's daily routines. One of these routines is giving them some peaceful sleep. We have a warm and quiet separate sleep room with a cot for each baby that offers comfort and security to your child.
A safe and inviting outdoor play area is specially designed just for the babies which encourages learning through safe and active exploration.

Breastfeeding

It is proven through research that breastfeeding is the best form of infant nutrition, providing a multitude of health benefits to both the baby and mother. We keenly support mothers to continue your breastfeeding relationship with your baby while he/she is in our care. You are welcome to come and nurse your baby at any time of the day.

Burrow Room (toddlers)

The Burrow Room has been designed to extend and build upon your child’s experiences in the Nurture Room. The dedicated play area and carefully selected educational resources are designed to stimulate their brains through exciting explorative educational encounters.

Our trained teachers take special time and care to create warm, nurturing relationships with the children and their families. The aim is to provide experiences and interactions that support and challenge the children’s learning and interests while keeping them emotionally and physically safe.

The toddlers have a dedicated playground which is safe but introduces challenges and adventures to encourage physical movement and learning.

Wonder Room (pre-schoolers)

The carefully designed and abundantly resourced Wonder Room along with our play based and child centred approach helps Children learn through investigations based on their interest while developing confidence in their capabilities.

As children explore and experience the environment, they learn foundational language, science and mathematical concepts in a far more meaningful way. Our curriculum is also based on the principles and goals of Te Whariki, New Zealand's national curriculum.

Our curriculum is designed to teach both educational and social skills needed for a smooth transition to the next step of your child's learning journey. A strong Transition to Primary School Programme is formulated by our teaching team, which ensures that your child is well prepared and attains a positive attitude towards attending primary school.
